Welcome to Becoming An Outdoors Woman in New Mexico |
Last Updated On: 10/06/2008
The Becoming an Outdoors Woman in New Mexico program currently consists of two separate workshops.
The goal of our May workshop is to provide women the opportunity to learn and experience various outdoor activities by allowing participants to choose from a variety of classes that include fishing, hunting, shooting, map & compass, arts and crafts, astronomy, basic rock climbing, nature photography, cooking, and many others. The workshop is held at the beautiful and spacious NRA Whittington Center located just outside Raton, New Mexico. World class instructors, scenery and the comrardary of fellow women make this weekend a fulfilling experience. To find out more on this program click on the "BOW in New Mexico" button above.
Beyond BOW, is held at the famous Doube H Ranch outside of Datil, New Mexico. This program focuses on single activities and a conservation project for the ranch and is limited in size to no more than 20 people. Although it is billed as a single day workshop we have turned it into a weekend workshop. Friday afternoon we set up camp, Saturday morning is the conservation project, Saturday afternoon is the workshop actvitiy, dinner and campfire, and Sunday is when we usually go for an early scouting drive of the ranch where we normally come upon several hundred head of elk, we then have a leisurely breakfast, break camp and say our good-byes.
